I am currently working on a master unit reference for this megagame, listing all the nuclear-capable units in the game, of which there is rather a lot. This will be then be sifted and edited to provide the database for each side, with data missing or even incorrect to fuel conflict, as happened in real life; especially with the R-36M, known to the West as the “SS-18 Satan”.
I’ve assigned each of them of them five key ratings to make things simply:
- Yield (Y): How many megatons a unit can deliver to its target. The Titan II, with 18 missiles in each wing, tops the ranking at 162 megatons.
- Tech Level (T): From 1 to 5, roughly based on when the unit entered service. The Soviet bloc is about five years behind the West here. China is more like ten, at least.
- Range (R): A series of categories ranging from Tactical (under 300km) to Intercontinental (over 5,500km), most divided in two.
- Accuracy (A): How close to its target the weapon is likely to get 50% of the time – what is called “Circular Error Probable” or CEP for short. Rated for 1 to 5.
- Penetration (P): The likelihood of a system actually getting a weapon on target in the first place, also rated from 1 to 5.
Yes, this spells PARTY in reverse. I chose that deliberately. If you want to take a look and make some comments, please use the contact form.
