Consider this is what the Americans call a Public Service Announcement and the British call… good advice.: Book Club Scams

As an independent author, I have been getting rather a lot of emails from random people claiming that they love my book and wanting to promote it at their rather large book club or send it to reviewers… for a rather expensive fee. They apparently think that $198 is a “small coordination fee”.

No, Fiona Carlson of “the Manhattan Book Club”, this is not a small fee in any stretch of the imagination. I also know that you’ve not read my book, because I can see the purchase stats. I bet you’d also fail a test on Murder Planet.

If genuine readers want to know what that means, Lava Moon is now available in eBook stores and soon will be in paperback.
