Writing update: 26 June 2025

I’ve been continuing to work my way through the Lava Moon revisions, in between all the other things going in my life, including a trip to Bletchley and also to the National Archives for some research.

I am still an extensive pen and paper user for note-making in my writing, but I have also been scanning some of my older stuff so I can get rid of the paper and free up some space in folders etc.

Here’s an example of something relevant to my writing:

Yes, I date my notes. Habit from school I’ve never really gotten out of and you can see how my ideas develop over time.

Like here, I hadn’t predicted generative AI…


I am also getting a lot of people trying to sell me advertising and other marketing ideas, often using carbon-copy (now that dates me!) text. I will generally reject these incentives flat going forward unless you have some really spectacular pitch. Capiche?
